Rochester police have made an arrest in the robbery and shooting death of a taxicab driver early Monday morning.
Suspect David Porter was arrested last night at an apartment in Chili and is being held on murder, robbery, and gun charges.
He's charged in the killing of David Treese III, whose body was found before dawn on Bay Street.
Police Chief David Smith says Treese had gone to First Street to pick up a fare, when Porter got in the cab, pistol-whipped Treese, then fired five or six shots.
Police say Porter has three prior felonies and three prior misdemeanors and was wanted on a warrant for obstruction of breathing.
