Monroe Co. Sheriff's Office Begins Search for New Jail Superintendent

The Monroe County Sheriff's Office says it's beginning the search for a new jail superintendent, a change Sheriff Todd Baxter says is being made because of several high-profile escapes, the recent improper release of a jail inmate, and a desire to move in a different direction.

The MCSO say former Jail Superintendent Ron Harling has been reassigned and will work outside the jail bureau.

The department is seeking what it calls a "dynamic leader" for the jail bureau. In the meantime, Undersheriff Korey Brown will act as interim jail superintendent.
