House Speaker Nancy Pelosi says President Trump is like a "man who refuses to ask for directions."
Pelosi told reporters that Trump continues to ignore good advice on handling the coronavirus outbreak, which is surging again in many parts of the U.S. She said there is not enough personal protective equipment, P-P-E, for frontline workers.
The House Speaker insisted that P-P-E supplies could be boosted if Trump activates the Defense Production Act. She called his inaction a "dereliction of duty" and said, "People are dying." She argued that there is still not enough coronavirus testing available across the U.S. She again criticized Trump for demanding that schools reopen soon without a solid plan to ensure the health and safety of students and teachers.
Pelosi, who is a grandmother, said it's "about children" and called it "personal." She also noted that increased unemployment benefits are due to expire later this month. Pelosi said, "People really need this money" and called it "essential."
