Possible Rabies Exposure in Livingston County

A raccoon has tested positive for rabies in the Town of Lima, according to the Livingston County Public Health Director.

Health officials say one person may have been exposed to the raccoon at Camp Lima on June 14 during the German Festival.

Earlier this month, Wayne County reported three rabies cases, including a domestic cat and a raccoon in the Lyons and Sodus area.

Officials are urging residents to avoid contact with wild animals.
