Angel Colon, the Wyoming County man convicted in the 1997 killing of seven-year-old Samantha Zaldivar, has been denied parole.
Colon recently went before the parole board after serving more than two decades behind bars for second-degree murder.
The victim’s body was discovered months after she was reported missing, in a field near her home
Records show Colon’s next chance at release is now set for May 2028.
Community members and the victim’s loved ones had urged the board to keep him in prison.
