1st Guilty Plea Entered in Sam Nordquist Murder Case

One of the seven defendants charged in the torture and murder of Sam Nordquist has reached a guilty plea

Emily Motyka pleaded guilty to kidnapping and murder charges.

She faces anywhere from 15 years to life in prison.

She waives her right to appeal, and there is no word on whether the agreement means she will testify against the other 6 defendants who are expected to go on trial individually starting at the end of August.

Ontario County DA Jason McBride says she has expressed remorse, has no prior criminal history, and the Nordquist family signed off on the agreement.

Six others still face charges in the sexual abuse and torture of Nordquist between December 2024 and February 2025, when his body was dumped in Yates County.
