The Monroe County Legislature has approved a $500,000 settlement to a lawsuit brought by blinded Rochester police Officer Denny Wright.
Wright claimed the county and the city were aware of the troubled mental health history of Keith Williams, and the many emergency calls at his home on Peck Street when Wright went there in 2019.
His lawsuit claims Williams didn't get the treatment he needed.
Wright was stabbed in the eyes and blinded.
Williams is serving a 40-year-to-life sentence.
A separate claim against the City of Rochester is still pending.
