Police in Canandaigua shot and killed a pit bull after it injured its owner and charged officers on Chapin Street Wednesday afternoon.
Investigators say the woman was trying to control the dog when it badly hurt her arm.
When officers stepped in, the animal became aggressive, even after being tased, and broke loose.
Police say it then rushed another officer, who fired, killing the dog.
The owner was treated for serious injuries.
Authorities say the pit bull had also attacked another dog, now under veterinary care.
