UPDATE: Amazon Truck Driver Charged in Several Rochester Crashes

UPDATE: Rochester police say they’ve found the driver of an Amazon truck tied to a string of crashes across the city.

The Amazon contractor was arrested, then released with an appearance ticket.

The driver now faces a charge of leaving the scene of a personal injury crash

Investigators say the truck first hit a 42-year-old man on Tacoma Street, then was chased by other drivers before crashing again near Genesee Street and Arnett Boulevard, and ending with a head-on collision at Epworth and Dr. Samuel McCree Way.

Three people suffered minor injuries.

Original story:

An Amazon driver accused of causing several crashes in the 19th Ward remains at large.

Police say the driver was speeding the wrong way down a one-way street and hit a car yesterday afternoon, putting one person in the hospital with minor injuries.

That same driver also allegedly hit another car and sideswiped a pedestrian minutes earlier, as a 42-year-old man was also taken to the hospital.

The Amazon driver then ran away.

There's no word yet on the charges the driver is facing.
