Charges Upgraded in Deadly Irondequoit Shooting

The man arrested in a deadly shooting earlier this month in Irondequoit now faces upgraded charges.

A grand jury has handed up an indictment against 26-year-old Armon Benefield on 2nd-degree murder and a gun crime.

Police say Benefield shot 50-year-old William Lundy of Rochester in the arm on April 9th during a large fight at Saint Paul Boulevard and 2nd Street.

Lundy died 5 days later.

Benefield was originally charged with 1st-degree assault.
