Prosecutors in Ontario County say two Geneva residents have been sentenced to five years on probation and a fine of more than $1,200 after they pleaded guilty to charges of Aggravated Cruelty to Animals.
Brian Hess and Rose Marie Bruno-Hess were charged after the Humane Society received reports of 18 dogs being mistreated at a home on Avenue B in Geneva.
Authorities found the 18 dogs and eight dead dogs on the property, a number of them in a camper in the driveway.
The animals were in feces-covered conditions and had minimal food and water.
