2 Arrested in Fairport Brawl, EMT Attack

Two people have been charged after a brawl on Main Street in Fairport and an attack on an EMT by an injured man, who first responders were trying to help.

A statement issued by Fairport Police and the Monroe County Sheriff's Office says Fairport police first went to North Main Street in the village early Saturday to check on an injured man.

They found 44-year-old Sean Sullivan, and the crew of a Perinton Ambulance tried to treat him and transport him to a hospital.

They say Sullivan began striking a paramedic, who had to be hospitalized.

Sullivan was also hospitalized and is now charged with assault.

Later that morning, police and deputies responded to the same area for some 50 people fighting.

They found a man unconscious on the ground and another man punching several people on the sidewalk.

Branden Scott of Penfield was charged with obstruction of government administration by the county and with assault by Fairport Police.

The investigation continues, and more charges are expected.
