He highlighted achievements such as tax cuts, improved border security, and "lower costs," despite inflation reaching its highest level in over three years. Trump emphasized that the convention will feature "hardworking Americans," including innovators, entrepreneurs, manufacturers, first responders, and job creators.

The decision to hold the convention in Texas is strategic, as it draws attention to the state's Senate race between Democratic nominee James Talarico and Republican nominee Ken Paxton. Paxton, the state attorney general, has faced scandals, including an extramarital affair, an impeachment, and a securities fraud case. These issues have raised concerns among Republican leaders about his candidacy.

The Democratic National Committee considered hosting a similar convention but ultimately decided against it, citing financial constraints.
