GOP Candidate Blakeman Denied Campaign Matching Funds

New York's Public Campaign Finance Board has ruled Republican candidate for governor Bruce Blakeman is not eligible for campaign matching funds.

The decision means he won't get millions of dollars for his race against Governor Hochul.

Democrats are in the majority on the board, and the vote was 4-3 along party lines.

Blakeman was disqualified because his running mate missed a joint application deadline.

Republicans say the rules were changed after Blakeman filed correctly under the old rules, before he decided on a running mate, and he should have been allowed to amend his application.

Blakeman says he will file a lawsuit.
