A Rochester man has been sentenced to more than 13 years in federal prison for distributing the fentanyl that led to a deadly overdose.
Federal prosecutors say 35‑year‑old Herschel Dawson was convicted after investigators tied him to a fatal overdose at a Gordon Street home in April 2022.
An undercover buy later confirmed that Dawson had been dealing drugs for years.
The case was investigated by Brockport Police, the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, Homeland Security Investigations, and the Greater Rochester Area Narcotics Enforcement Team.
