Rochester Domestic Violence Suspect Indicted

The case against a repeat domestic violence suspect at the heart of a controversy surrounding a City Court judge is now out of that judge's hands.

40-year-old Oritsegbegbemi Nanna has been indicted on several felony counts by a Monroe County grand jury.

He allegedly fought with officers during a domestic violence arrest on Treyer Street last week, just after Judge Van White released him without bail in another case.

That release sparked criticism from Rochester Police officials, as well as County Executive Adam Bello.

Nanna will now remain on an ankle monitor, at least until his arraignment.

A separate misdemeanor case will remain before Judge White.
