Federal prosecutors say a Livingston County woman has pleaded guilty to bilking an elderly neighbor out of tens of thousands of dollars.
The U.S. Attorney for Western New York says 46-year-old Nahtahna Castner of Dansville had the trust of a vulnerable neighbor who was in their 90s.
Castner and a co-conspirator gained access to the victim's banking information and began withdrawing large amounts of money and transferring itto Castner's own account.
She also made unauthorized purchases with the victim's credit card and applied for additional cards in the victim's name. They took the victim's bank account from about 284-thousand down to less than a hundred dollars.
Castner is looking at 22 years when she's sentenced on June 9th.
