Spencerport Voters Reject Electric School Buses

Spencerport voters have overwhelmingly rejected the purchase of electric school buses.

72% of the votes were no.

The district sought to buy 2 zero-emission buses.

Officials said it wouldn't raise taxes, with the money coming from reserve funds.

A similar proposal fell short last year by just 20 votes.

The move is part of a state mandate requiring districts to switch to zero-emission buses by next year.
