Rochester-Connected Migrant's In-Custody Death Ruled Homicide

The death of a migrant connected to Rochester at a Texas ICE detention center has been ruled a homicide.

55-year-old Geraldo Lunas Campos died on January 3rd.

The death certificate obtained by an El Paso TV station states he died of asphyxia "due to neck and torso compression."

Campos was arrested last summer in Rochester.

ICE says the Cuban migrant entered the US illegally in 1996, and was convicted of several crimes, including a 2003 conviction for sexual conduct with a child under 11 in Rochester.

A 2nd migrant was found dead at that same facility last week.
