Rochester police report arrests in a pair of shooting incidents.
59-year-old Edward Morris is charged with assault and criminal possession of a weapon for a weekend shooting on Lake Avenue near the Charlotte Lighthouse.
The victim is in stable condition at Strong Hospital.
Police say Morris pulled out his unregistered handgun while trying to break up a fight between the victim and another man and ended up shooting the victim.
Morris was picked up during a traffic stop on Monday.
The second arrest is from a case that dates back to last January, when officers found a woman shot at Otis and Myrtle Streets in the Lyell-Otis Neighborhood.
An investigation over the past year determined that 19-year-old Emiah Carson shot the woman during a robbery.
She was found walking Monday on Dr. Samuel McCree Way and has been charged with assault, robbery, grand larceny, and criminal possession of a weapon.
