The Providence Police Department released a new video on Monday (December 15) showing a person of interest in the recent Brown University shooting. The video, timestamped at 4:06 p.m. on Saturday, captures an individual in dark clothing walking on a sidewalk. The person's face is not visible in the footage.

The release of the video comes as police continue their investigation into the shooting, which occurred during a final exam review session for an economics class at Brown University. The attack left two students dead and nine others injured. Authorities are urging anyone with additional video footage or information to contact the Providence police.

A 24-year-old man from Wisconsin was detained on Sunday but was released after scientific evidence cleared him of any involvement. Rhode Island Attorney General Peter F. Neronha confirmed that the man was "effectively cleared" and emphasized that the investigation is ongoing.

The shooting has left the Brown University community and surrounding areas on edge, with increased security measures and school closures in place. Providence Mayor Brett Smiley stated that there is no credible threat to the community at this time, but the search for the shooter continues.

The police plan to release additional video footage as they seek to identify the suspect. Authorities are encouraging the public to submit any tips or information that could assist in the investigation.
