An elderly man is in critical but stable condition after he was hit by a car on Rochester's east side.
Police say the man in his 70s was walking in the roadway at Merchants Road and Berwick Avenue at around 2 this morning, when a northbound vehicle struck him.
The driver is cooperating with police and has not been charged.
Investigators say rainy conditions contributed to the accident.
