Rochester Man Sentenced for Fatally Shooting Acquaintance

The man who admitted to accidentally shooting his acquaintance to death on Rochester's north side was sentenced to 2-and-a-third to 7 years in jail

Police say 27-year-old Marquell Miller was carrying a rifle on the 2nd floor of a home on Rialto Street in July of last year, when he accidentally pulled the trigger, firing a shot through the floor.

That shot killed 24-year-old Aaron Hurell.

Miller pleaded guilty to 2nd-degree manslaughter and gun crimes in August.
