Firefighters say it broke out just after midnight at a 4-story building on Lake Avenue, near Emerson Street.

Nine people were able to get out on their own, but one person was pulled down from a 3rd-floor fire escape.

The fire was under control within about 30 minutes.

One person was checked out at the scene.

Meanwhile, a fire broke out early this morning in the Mayor's Heights neighborhood.

Fire crews were called out just before 4 this morning to a vacant home on Clifton Street.

No one was hurt, but two nearby homes were also damaged.
