Monroe County's next district attorney is Irondequoit Town Justice Brian Green.
The appointment by Governor Hochul was not unexpected.
Green will complete the term of former DA Sandra Doorley.
She stepped down last month after a judicial review pushed for her departure in the aftermath of her angry encounter last year with a Webster police officer.
Green served under Doorley until 2018 as the head of the DA's Major Felony Bureau.
Assistant DA Perry Duckles was acting DA for the past month.
An election for a full term as DA will be held next year.
