Man Pleads Guilty in Shooting Outiside West Ridge Rd. Bar

A Rochester man has pleaded guilty to a manslaughter charge in the death of another man, shot to death in a West Ridge Road parking lot four years ago.

34-year-old Jose Acevedo was charged in the shooting of 29-year-old Sean Semprie outside the Black Bear Pub.

He was shot multiple times and pronounced dead at the scene.

Rochester police investigators identified Acevedo as a suspect after learning he and Semprie had argued inside the bar earlier that night.

Acevedo then approached Semprie in the parking lot and shot him.

Acedevo will serve 22 years in state prison plus five years of post-release supervision.
