Rochester Man Sentenced in Thanksgiving Day Shooting

The man convicted in a shooting on Rochester's southwest side last Thanksgiving will serve 16-and-a-half years in prison.

28-year-old Abdi Mohammed pleaded guilty to assault last month.

He admitted to shooting a man in his 20s at least 10 times on Exchange Street, near Flint Street, then robbing him.

The victim was left lying for about 7 hours, before flagging a passing jogger for help.

The wounds were life-threatening, but the man survived.
