Brothers Sentenced for Assaulting RPD Officers

Two brothers accused of assaulting Rochester police officers who were trying to break up a reckless group of ATV and dirt bike rider have been sentenced.

Alexander Lugo-Torres faces 10 years in prison with 5 years post-release supervision

His brother Alexis Lugo-Torres will serve 5 years, followed by 5 years post-release supervision

The incident that lead to their assault charges happened in May last year near the Casa Campo Restaurant on East Main Street.

Police say Alexander Lugo-Torres had a loaded gun and drove at an officer with his ATV, then dragged him.

Older brother Alexis Lugo-Torres tried to drive away and dragged several officers, then hit some other vehicles.
