Four hundred fifty child sexual abuse victims unanimously said yes to a setlement with the Roman Catholic Diocese of Rochester.
Attorney Steve Boyd represents the victims that had their Child Victims Act cases sent to the bankruptcy court when the diocese filed for Chapter 11.
Those victoms will eventually share 246 million dollars
Boyd tells WHAM 1180 that objections from the bankruptcy trustees were overuled in court, and the judge referred to this as the one-yard line.
Final approval will come at a September hearing, before a neutral evaluator divides up the money case-by-case.
