Suspect Arrested in Multi-County Stolen Car Chase

Brighton Police say a chase that spanned parts of three counties started with a reported burglary in their town.

Police found a home had been burglarized shortly before 8:00 a.m. and the victim's Buick SUV had also been stolen.

Police spotted that car on Lyell Avenue in Rochester, but the driver refused to stop and sped south on 390.

That chase went across Livingston County and ended in Arkport in Stueben County, when a police car shoved the fleeing SUV off Route 36 and into a field.

The suspect fled on foot, but a police K-9 unit caught up with him.

The suspect was taken into custody by Livingston County Deputies.

No word yet on his name or the charges he's facing.
