UPDATE: Suspect Arrested in Thruway Shutdown Identified

UPDATE: State Police have named the Rochester man who caused the shutdown this morning on the Thruway.

31-year-old Anthony Caceres allegedly pointed a shotgun at Troopers this morning on the 90 Westbound near Pittsford, after his car left the road and got stuck.

That prompted an hours-long standoff that shut the roadway down in both directions.

Caceres is charged with menacing a police officer, obstructing governmental administration, and a gun crime.

Original story:

A suspect has been arrested without incident, in a standoff that shut down the Thruway this morning in both directions between Exits 45 and 46.

There's no word yet on the name of the suspect, nor the charges.

Troopers say the suspect was barricaded inside a vehicle with a firearm.

The Thruway reopened in both directions shortly after 7 this morning.
