The owner of a Greece pawn shop will serve 6 years in prison -- after pleading guilty to his role in a retail theft ring.
Federal prosecutors say 41-year-old Dominic Sprague, owner of New York Gold Diamond Pawn Shop, hired three people to steal high-end goods from area stores, then sold them on eBay.
He and store operator James Civiletti made more than $2 million off of the roughly 48,000 items they stole and sold between January 2022 and August of last year.
Sprague will be formally sentenced in September.
Civiletti and three others are still awaiting sentencing.
