A Rochester man will serve 30 years in prison after being convicted of assault and gun crimes in a shooting that almost killed a man on the city's northwest side 15 months ago.
33-year-old Johnkiomi Ruiz shot a man in June of 2023 on Lake Avenue near Ravine Avenue.
The victim had life altering injuries but survived.
Prosecutors say Ruiz targeted the victim, hunted the man down and shot him in the back.
