State Schools Report Computer Testing Issues

The State Education Department says a number of schools across the state had trouble with their computer-based testing system for the second day in a row.

The system for Grades 3-through-8 is administered by a vendor company called NWEA.

An Education Department spokesman says NWEA is solely responsible for the slowdowns in the system.

The state says this is unacceptable and they want answers for why this has been happening.

NWEA says it has already put a fix in place for the problems and they won't be recurring.

The state apologizes to schools, students and families affected by the testing problems.
