Clifton Springs Firefighter Accused of Setting Fire

The Ontario County Sheriff's Office says a dumpster fire that broke out yesterday afternoon in the Village of Clifton Springs was deliberately set.

Sheriff David Cirencione says his department has arrested 19-year old Joshua Musgrove of Clifton Springs on a charge of arson.

He was released on an appearance ticket.

The sheriff confirmed Musgrove is a Clifton Springs firefighter, who also responded to the fire call.

Clifton Springs Fire Chief Paul Conklin says Musgrove passed an arson background check at the time of his hiring. He's been suspended, and if found guilty will be fired from the department.
