Rchester Parent Pleads Guilty in Dog-Mauling Death

One of the two Rochester parents indicted in the dog-mauling death of their son last summer --has entered a guilty plea and will serve 1 to 3 years in prison.

20-year-old Sulamain Hawkins Sr., along with Anastasia Weaver were arrested in the death of 3-month-old Sulamain Hawkins Jr. last August.

The parents allegedly left the baby in the attic of a friend's home on Bidwill Terrace, while they went downstairs to smoke marijuana.

Two dogs were also in the attic, and the baby was found unresponsive.

He later died at the hospital.

Weaver will go to trial on a 2nd-degree manslaughter charge on the 31st.
