Several local men involved in the Capitol Riot have received pardons or commutations from President Trump.
The most notorious, Proud Boy leader Dominic Pezzola, was sentenced to 10 years in federal prison in September 2023.
He was found guilty of stealing and destroying govenment property, obstructing an official proceeding and assaulting an officer, but cleared of the most serious charge of seditious conspiracy.
His conviction will stand, but he'll be released immediately.
Cody Mattice and James Mault, both of Monroe County, have already finished their sentences.
The executive order also sort-circuits the prosecutions of James Weeks of Sodus, as well as Steuben County father-son duo Charles Schimmel Sr. and Logan Schimmel.
