Rochester police have an arrest in a fatal hit-and-run that took place April 11th at Driving Park Avenue and St. Paul Street.
63-year-old Billy Smith was crossing the street when he was struck and killed by a car traveling over the Driving Park Bridge.
Police have now charged 26-year-old Shashonnie Williams with trying to hide the evidence of the crash.
At the time of the accident, Williams was out of custody pending sentencing for a Leandra's Law violation, which is driving drunk with a child in the car.
He is now charged with tampering with physical evidence as well.
Williams has been in jail since October on a bench warrant for failing to appear at his Leandra's Law sentencing.
He'll be in court next in January.
