Sodus Man Sentenced for Role in Capitol Riot

The Sodus man arrested in February on charges connected to the Capitol riot-- will serve just over 2 years in prison.

Fifty-five-year-old James Weeks was at least the fourth area man charged in the riot.

Prosecutors say he assaulted a Metropolitan Police officer, and smashed a window to enter the Capitol.

Weeks plpeaded guilty to a single felony charge of assaulting, resisting, or impeding officers.

The Justice Department says Weeks was identified in open-source video footage, and images from Capitol security cameras and body-worn cameras.
