Rochester's Police Accountability Board has released detailed reports on 31 investigations of alleged police misconduct, but City Hall lawyers say the board wasn't allowed to do it.
According to the City administration, the release was not allowed under the Board's charter, which allows only aggregated quarterly and annual reports on the disposition of complaints.
Also, the City says the release violates a court ruling and the City's Code of Ethics.
That was explained to the Board in a letter last week.
The Board says it will issue reports every month.
