Rochester police say an officer is on leave and recovering after taking a blow to the face from a teenager.
It happened yesterday while the officer was on patrol outside the former Franklin High School.

Police say the teen ignored orders from security to leave, then punched the officer who tried to detain him.
The charges include assault, trespassing and resisting arrest.
In a statement, school district officuials say more security staff will be on hand, and they'll use counseling and restorative practices to address the root causes of these incidents.
