Man Pleads Guilty in Fatal Shooting of Rochester Teen

The Rochester man arrested for the deadly shooting of a teenage girl last summer has entered a guilty plea.

28-year-old Reign Tapiato pleaded guilty today to 1st-degree manslaughter.

Prosecutors say he shot 16-year-old Jakarah Lopez-Moore in the head, just hours after she left her home on Weld Street in August of last year.

Jakarah's body was found in some woods on the city's west side in October.

Police have said the two were acquaintances, but he claimed the two had a sexual relationship.

Tapiato's trial on murder and weapons charges is slated to begin next Tuesday.

He'll be sentenced to 20 years in prison in November.
