Geneva Man Sentenced in Shooting, Murder-For-Hire Plot

A Geneva man will serve 43 years to life in prison.

Prosecutors say Jerry Lovett Junior wounded a man in a shooting in January of last year.

He was then accused of trying to hire a hitman to kill the victim to keep the man from testifying against him.

Lovett was found guilty in May of charges including attempted murder, conspiracy, and assault.
