The man charged in a series of robberies yesterday in Gates has a criminal record spanning 18 years.
Thirty-nine-year-old Julian Gracia has previous convictions for burglary, attempted grand larceny, criminal sex act, and other charges.
He was arrested yesterday after he tied up a clerk during a robbery at the Gates Motel and threatened police.
He was subdued with pepper spray and a Taser.
He and an officer needed treatment for minor injuries.
Gracia is also accused of stealing from a donation jar at a convenience store and breaking into a restaurant on Buffalo road earlier in the day.
