1 Arrested in Shooting at Seneca Falls Tops, Victim Critical

UPDATE: Authorities have a suspect in custody for a shooting outside the Tops store in Seneca Falls.

Police arrested 35-year-old Jose Garcia-Vellen, of Waterloo, and charged him with assault.

47-year-old Antonio Caban Ortiz of Geneva remains in critical condition.

Police said he had been shot in the face, and was found in a truck.

The shooting happened yesterday afternoon, and forced the store to close temporarily for the investigation.

Police believe the two knew each other.

One person is hospitalized, following a shooting at a Seneca County supermarket.

Authorities say the victim was hit in the face by gunfire in the parking lot of the Seneca Falls Tops this afternoon.

The victim was airlifted to Upstate University Hospital.

There's no word on their condition.

One person has been taken into custody, while three others were detained for questioning.

The shooting forced the store into lockdown for a time, but it's now back open.
