Rochester Man Admits Throwing Fireworks at RPD During Prude Protests

A Rochester man has admitted in court to throwing fireworks at police during the Daniel Prude demonstrations in September 2020.

24-year-old JohnMichael Santiago pleaded guilty in federal court to civil disorder and assaulting a federal officer.

Prosecutors say Santiago also assaulted two corrections officers at Livingston County Jail, giving one a back injury and the other a concussion.

Santiago faces up to 20 years in prison when he's sentenced in September.
