Williams Guilty in 1984 Murder of Wendy Jerome

A jury has found Timothy Williams guilty of 3 counts of 2nd-degree murder in a 40-year-old murder case.

Prosecutors say Williams, now 60 years old, raped and murdered 14-year-old Wendy Jerome on Thanksgiving 1984.

Her body was discovered near a trash bin near Rochester's School 33.

Monroe County District Attorney Sandra Doorley says DNA taken from a bottle in Williams recycling bin matched DNA found on the girl's sweater and underwear.

He became a suspect in 2020 after DNA from the crime scene was connected to his relative's DNA in a database.

Williams testified in his defense yesterday, claiming he and Jerome had consensual sex at his apartment, and that Jerome walked home alone.
