UPDATE: Funeral Set for Retired Rochester Trooper Dead From 9/11 Illness

UPDATE: State police say a wake is planned for next Friday for the retired trooper from Rochester who troopers say died of a 9/11-related illness.

Calling hours for Steven Tyrrell will be held next Friday from 4 to 8 at Anthony’s Funeral Home on Monroe Avenue in Rochester.

The funeral is set for 11 o'clock the following morning at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church on Varianna Drive.

A retired Trooper from Rochester has died due to a 9/11-related illness.

State Police say 58-year-old Steven Tyrrell served for 26 years, mostly with Troop T out of Henrietta.

He went to New York City after the terror attacks to help with search and recovery.

Funeral arrangements have not yet been announced.
