Rochester Police Probe Armed Robbery, Burglary at Family Dollar Stores

Police are crediting a store manager for helping them track down a robber after an armed hold-up in Rochester.

It happened yesterday afternoon at the Family Dollar store on Waring Road.

Police say the store manager followed the robber outside and was able to direct officers to a vacant home in the neighborhood.

Police found a 53-year-old man inside, and found evidence from the robbery.

The man's name has not been released.

Meantime, police are investigating a break-in at a Family Dollar store on North Goodman Street.

It happened just after 2 a.m. when a caller reported seeing several people inside.

They ran off before officers arrived.

It's not clear what they may have taken from the store.
