No Retrial for Rochester Man Jailed for 37 Years

A Rochester man who was incarcerated for 37 years will not retried for murder.

62-year-old Michael Rhynes had his indictment sealed and dismissed today.

He was released from prison last month, after a state Supreme Court judge tossed out his murder conviction.

Two jailhouse informants admitted they lied when they testified that Rhynes was one of the gunmen in a 1984 shooting that killed a bar owner and a customer during a botched robbery.

The District Attorney's office did not challenge his release.
